Carol Uhrmacher

Digital Archivist Carol Uhrmacher has worked in libraries since 1990. She received her Bachelor of Arts honors degree in Literature from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania, which included studies at Oxford University, England. Carol earned her Master’s of Library Science degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo. Carol has served as a university librarian, a public reference librarian, and a children’s librarian. She has performed graphic design, editing, and cataloging duties in the special collections of a winery and a museum. Since 2002, Carol has worked in the Anne T. Kent California Room of the Marin County Free Library as Librarian and Digital Archivist. As Digital Archivist, Carol’s responsibilities center on collecting, preserving, and making accessible, local history material, often in digital formats. She was instrumental in developing the California Room’s Digital Archive.
