Marilyn L. Geary

Marilyn L. Geary is an oral historian and media artist whose company, Circle of Life Stories, provides history recording and preservation services for individuals, families, businesses, organizations, and communities.

A Phi Beta Kappa graduate of U.C. Berkeley in English, Marilyn holds a Master’s Degree in Education/Instructional Technologies from San Francisco State University. Her work in multimedia includes co-developer of The Newcomers, an interactive program introducing teen immigrants to their peers in the United States, co-developer of The Muse, a program that teaches poetry writing to children, developer of Preventing Sexual Harassment for New Media Learning, and the programs Voices of Italian-Americans in Marin and What is Oral History?

She is author of Marin City Memories, stories of African Americans who migrated to the San Francisco during World War II to work in the shipyards, and co-author of LeaveLight: a Motivational Guide to Holistic End-of-Life Planning.
